The shaman I am working with journeyed to the spirit of fibromyalgia recently as we wanted to find out how I could be helped and what is going on on a metaphysical level with fibromyalgia.
Fibromyalgia is a disorder characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain accompanied by fatigue, sleep, memory and mood issues. Researchers believe that fibromyalgia amplifies painful sensations by affecting the way your brain processes pain signals. Basically, it feels like hot acid burning all over my body 24/7 brought on by many theories circulating – trauma, stress, infection.
The shaman journeyed into another realm of existence and said he saw a castle, a castle with traps all around it and a draw bridge. Inside the castle the shaman found a man wrapped totally and suffocating in bandages; he was wrapped in total fear. ABSOLUTE FEAR.
The man would not reveal anything. The only way to get through to him was to surround him with love, shower him with love. With that, the bandages started to unravel themselves. That’s all he found out…..
“5 Most Common Types Of Ghosts and Spirits
Have you ever seen a ghost?
Many of us have weird sensations about seeing shadows or shapes out of the corner of our eye, only for them to disappear when we turn to look. And while you may be one of those people who is not afraid of such a paranormal experience, did you ever stop and wonder just what kind of ghostly apparition you encountered? Maybe, like most folks, you didn’t even consider that there could be different kinds of ghosts out there. But the fact is, experts in the field have put together a list and definitions of the types of supernatural phenomena that exist and it may come in handy, especially if you’re headed out on a Ghosts & Gravestones Tour.
Types Of Ghosts and Spirits
1. The Interactive Personality
The most common of all ghosts spotted is usually of a deceased person, someone you know, a family member or perhaps even a historical figure. These ghosts can be friendly or not – but often show themselves to others in a variety of ways. They can become visible; they can speak or make noises, touch you or even emit an odor like perfume or cigar smoke, etc, to let you know they are there. Experts say that this type of ghost retains its former personality of when they were alive and can feel emotions. And often, they are visiting you to comfort you or let you know something important. So if you happen to see a lost loved one, chances are they are there because they feel you want or need to see them.
2. The Ectoplasm or Ecto-Mist
Ever seen a mist or fog that almost looks like it’s swirling? If so, you may be witnessing what paranormal investigators deem as an ecto-mist or ghostly mist. This vaporous cloud usually appears several feet off the ground and can move swiftly or simply stay still – almost likes it’s orbiting. These ghostly encounters have been captured on many videos and in photographs and can be white, gray or even black. Although they can simply appear this way, linger then move away quickly, sometimes ectoplasms appear before becoming a full-bodied apparition. Many people have witnessed them outdoors, in graveyards, battlefields and historical sites.
3. The Poltergeist
Perhaps one of the most popular terms most of us have heard when it comes to ghosts, the word poltergeist actually means “noisy ghost” because it is said to have the ability to move or knock things over, make noise and manipulate the physical environment. While many of us had heard the term before, a poltergeist is actually one of the rarest forms of hauntings and to many, the most terrifying. Loud knocking sounds, lights turning on and off, doors slamming, even fires breaking out mysteriously have all been attributed to this type of a spiritual disturbance. Another frightening aspect of the poltergeist is that the event usually starts out slowly and mildly, then begins to intensify. And while many times poltergeist activity is harmless and ends quickly, they have been known to actually become dangerous. Some experts explain it as a mass form of energy that a living person is controlling unknowingly. Whatever the case may be, poltergeists have caught the attention of paranormal enthusiasts and experts, scientists and many others who are just plain curious.
Orbs are probably the most photographed type of anomaly. They appear as a transparent or translucent ball of light that is hovering over the ground. Many ghost hunters and guests on Ghosts & Gravestones are surprised to see them in their photos. It is believed that orbs are the soul of a human or even an animal that has died and is traveling around from one place to another. The circular shape they take on makes it easier for them to move around and is often the first state they appear in before they become a full-bodied apparition. If you’re lucky enough to capture an orb on video, you’ll be amazed by how fast they can move. In photographs they are usually white but can be blue as well.
5. Funnel Ghosts
Most often spotted in homes or old historical buildings, the funnel ghost or vortex is frequently associated with a cold spot. They usually take on the shape of a swirling funnel and most paranormal experts believe they are a loved one returning for a visit or even a former resident of the home. Appearing as a wisp of light or a swirling spiral of light, they are often caught in photographs or on video.”
I will start by saying I slept 8 hours which is good. I think it’s probably because I spent the past few days having a few joints in the evening so my system is a bit more spacey tired if that makes sense.
I had dreams that felt more real than real life of adventurous worlds filled with characters from my past. It was strange to wake up to this reality and adjust.
I spent the day researching into different topics and delved into my Shadow side. I had a lot of self-reflection and insight into my Shadow side. The addict, the wanting to be right etc. It was fascinating and refreshed my knowledge I had learnt years ago.
I woke in A LOT of pain. My whole body felt like it had been in a car crash as it usually does. My limbs were burning as if acid had been porn on them and it was hard to walk with out every step feeling like I was walking with limbs disintegrating. Not good, not nice. This pain makes me want to kill myself. I want to live but my reality is hardly liveable. I don’t know how I do it. I don’t have a choice. My head ached, I have had headaches, feeling very tired and I kept falling asleep during the day. I closed the curtains and slept flat on my face. I felt very flat, depressed, miserable, tired, exhausted, bored, not knowing what the point of this all is.
I am bored of living around here. Every thing I do annoys me. I want to go out for a cigarette in peace but instead I have to make conversation. I feel awkward. I don’t belong here at all. Where is my planet? Its not here. Its not the right environment to be in to heal. I walk out the front door and I have to see someone from my past. I dot want to. I love my parents but we are so different, their lifestyle is not mine. But I don’t have a choice. At least its safe.
I think about you a lot. I miss you. All I want to do is get a train and cuddle and do nothing and just be and make love and smoke a joint to ease the pain of my reality. I wish I could live with you, I can’t because I’m not right, I’m not well and I think it would be too much. We both have our issues and they clash at times. I’m scared to live with you based on past experiences. I love you dearly. It’s a hard thing to grapple with.
I do not like coming back here. I don’t think I can live anywhere as I feel so fucked up.
No one can see the absolute chaos on the inside. It’s invisible. I wish I could be understood. I always feel misunderstood.
God. I am so tired.
I had therapy this morning and the main theme was that I am ordinary. My teenage life up until this point I had always felt different. Yet, we are all ordinary at the same time as being extraordinary. I got all these tattoos and piercings to change myself, I took psychedelics to find God and all I ever wanted to do was leave this planet enlightened. Yet its an ego wanting. It just is. All just is. I am ordinary. I’ve been seeking the extraordinary but that is ordinary too. I am no different or better than anyone else. Of course we are all different but we are the same. It’s a paradox but I am ordinary. It was a good session with lots of laughs.
I then had a talk with a Shaman I am working with via Skype. He told me that when he journeyed to retrieve my soul parts that he had to go to the source of my divinity. All my chakras were blunted and stagnant, his spirit allies worked on them to try and get them moving. He then said that he retrieved four soul parts. One from a mixed raced man I travelled with, another from my mother who was afraid to loose me, another woman from two pubescdnt girls from my childhood. They all willingly came back and I welcome them back. I don’t know what is happening or if anything has changed. I am stuck in an Abyss and unknown. I asked him some questions about soul parts and Shamanism and we had a good conversation. Next we will work on compassionate de possession which means we are sending the souls that have attached to me back to source, back home and freeing me in turn. I am grateful for your help Nick.
I am tattooing a duality symbol on my ankle to represent the light and dark within us, the shadow side whilst watching some videos on youtube.
I just want to die. I debate it in my head all the time. I want this pain to end.
I ate a lot of lettece today. Its not always easy only being able to eat around 8 foods. Emotional and physical pain eating to distract myself..
I am still working on a long blog post about what I am experiencing but I seem to be putting it off. There is so much that I want to express via writing and get out of my mind. Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow.
Now I do a ceremony by my tree to welcome my soul parts back. Dear God I hope to sleep and have respite in unconsciousness. Please.
Have a good life,
“People may wake in the middle of the night and find themselves unable to move or utter a sound. They might see a shadowy figure hovering in the corner, feel a pressure on their chest or sense a hand around their throat. Other times, they feel removed from their frozen bodies, as if floating out of their bed sheets. These bizarre experiences are known as sleep paralysis, a diagnosable and fairly common sleeping disorder.
Prevalence through history
References to sleep paralysis are scattered throughout history, though not usually under the name “sleep paralysis.” Folklore and myths from around the world describe the terrifying experience of being unable to move upon waking and sometimes seeing beings, being choked or being held down. Nightmares known as the “Old Hag” in Newfoundland, Kokma in St. Lucia, and tsog in East Asia may have all be borne of the same spooky experience, according to an article in the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine. In 1664, a Dutch physician described a patient’s experience of sleep paralysis as the “Incubus or the Night-Mare,” providing the first known clinical description of the affliction.
According to a 2011 review, about 7.6% of the world’s population experiences at least one episode of sleep paralysis in their lifetime, with higher rates noted among students and psychiatric patients, particularly those with post-traumatic stress or panic disorder. Sleep paralysis is also a common symptom of narcolepsy, a condition characterized by excessive sleepiness, sleep attacks and sudden loss of muscle control, as described by the National Sleep Foundation. Sleep paralysis in the absence of narcolepsy is known as “isolated sleep paralysis,” or “recurrent isolated sleep paralysis” if it occurs repeatedly.
Sleep paralysis demons and other hallucinations
Nowadays, scientists have gained a better understanding of sleep paralysis as a neurological disorder, rather than a brush with the paranormal. Sleep paralysis arises from disrupted REM sleep, named for the rapid eye movements that occur during this stage of the sleep cycle.
“During sleep paralysis, you have two aspects of REM sleep going on when you’re awake,” said Brian Sharpless, a licensed clinical psychologist and co-author of the book “Sleep Paralysis: Historical Psychological, and Medical Perspectives” (Oxford University Press, 2015). You’re most likely to experience dreaming during REM sleep, he said, and the body actually becomes paralyzed “presumably so you don’t try to act out your dreams.”
During an episode of sleep paralysis, a person becomes paralyzed for seconds or minutes just as they’re falling asleep or waking up. While frozen beneath their bedsheets, many people also experience vivid hallucinations.
People who have experienced sleep paralysis often describe sensing an evil presence, or demon in the room with them. A study published in the journal Sleep Medicine last month reported that out of 185 patients diagnosed with sleep paralysis, about 58% sensed a presence in the room with them, usually something non-human, and about 22% actually saw a person in the room, usually a stranger.
Sleep paralysis may also cause people to feel pressure on their chest, or feel as though their body is moving without them directing it, according to the American Sleep Association. Sometimes people find the out-of-body hallucinations pleasant and feel as though they’re weightless, but more often, the sensations can be quite disturbing. Like paralysis, these hallucinations may also be a lingering manifestation of REM sleep.
“We know the amygdala is highly active in REM, which is important to fear and emotional memory,” said Daniel Denis, a postdoctoral scholar in psychiatry at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. “You have part of the brain actively responding to fear or something emotional, but nothing in the environment to account for that. So the brain comes up with a solution to that paradox.” That’s one possible explanation, he said; but the actual cause of the hallucinations is still unknown.
Risk factors and treatment
A myriad of factors, including substance use, genetic factors, a history of trauma, a psychiatric diagnosis and poor physical health and sleep quality, may increase the risk of developing sleep paralysis, according to a 2018 review. The frequency and severity of episodes has also been linked to anxiety-like symptoms and sleep deprivation.
“This may explain why [sleep paralysis] comes in waves or bouts,” Denis told Live Science. “Episodes might coincide with a period of stress.”
There is no set treatment for sleep paralysis, but doctors usually direct diagnosed patients to improve their sleep schedule and maintain a better bedtime routine. In more extreme cases, patients may be prescribed a low dose of antidepressants, according to the National Health Society of the UK. These medications may help mitigatemediate the symptoms of sleep paralysis by suppressing certain aspects of REM sleep, Sharpless noted.
So, what should you do if you experience sleep paralysis?
“If you have rare episodes of sleep paralysis, but haven’t been seen by a sleep specialist, make sure your sleep hygiene is solid,” said Shelby Harris, director of Behavioral Sleep Medicine at the Sleep-Wake Disorders Center at the Montefiore Health System in the Bronx, New York City. “For example, sleep paralysis can be a sign that you’re sleep deprived,”
Harris suggested that people experiencing sleep paralysis should make sure to get enough sleep on a regular basis, avoid alcohol, nicotine and drugs all night, starting 3 hours before bedtime. They should also limit caffeine after 2 p.m. and keep electronics out of the bedroom.
“If these things don’t help, and you’re having episodes that are becoming somewhat more frequent, see a sleep specialist to see if there’s any underlying medical disorder that might be causing the sleep paralysis,” Harris said.”
Shamans work with the spirit or the soul and they work with energy. In the case of shamanic extraction they are working with misplaced energy. No energy is truly bad from a shamanic perspective. If energy is misplaced or it isn’t in accord with the environment (the human body, or the body of land…) it will bring illness.
Shamanic extraction is the removal of displaced energy, sometimes called intrusions. This is energy that does not belong in the body and may cause illness.
Where does misplaced energy come from?
We all are aware that emotional states can effect health. Stress is acknowledged to cause backaches and ulcers. Shamans believe that your emotion takes the form of energy and can be stored throughout the body and eventually lead to illness. So you store your stress or anger in your stomach, or you get angry and send your anger out at someone. We can see this if can remember a time when someone’s anger or sadness seemed to have an effect on a room: “her anger hit me like a blow” or “you could cut the tension with a knife.”
The energy that can be stored in the body does not have to be from anger but could be from other reasons as well. In the shamanic mind there is no distinction made based on where the energy came from. The shaman sees that the energy does not belong there and removes it.
Other types of misplaced energy could be the energy left behind from an injury. Someone sprains his/her ankle and an energetic injury may remain which could perpetuate weakness in that location. Organ transplants is sometimes an instance where shamanic extraction is needed. Shamanically everything has a soul, so the heart transplanted from another may still contain energy from the organ donor. This energy may or may not be compatible with the heart transplant recipient. If its not, the shaman would remove the ‘displaced’ energy that is adding to the body’s rejection of the heart so that the rejection will be less severe.
As you can see in the organ donor example, misplaced energy is not good or bad, it simply does not belong there. Because it does not belong there it causes illness or weakness in the body.
The Extraction: Finding and Removing the Misplaced Energy
The shaman will first enter a shamanic state of consciousness to diagnose and find where misplaced energy might be in the body. This change in consciousness allows the shaman to see in a different way, to see what is going on energetically. The shaman will perceive the energy in some way that will indicate to her or to him that it needs to be removed. It may appear to shaman as black sludge, or as an attacking snake, have a smell, or be felt as heaviness. The way each shaman perceives that there is misplaced energy varies, but there is always a signal of some kind which says ‘this does not belong here.’
Once the shaman has located the misplaced energy, he or she will then merge fully with their guardian spirits or power animals. Merging with healing spirits increases the shaman’s power and allows them to remove the energy. It also protects the shaman from taking the energy into her or his own body during the shamanic extraction. This increase of power allows the shaman to pull the energy out, as if he or she has a stronger magnet to pull with. If the shaman increases the power of his or her magnet sufficiently to overcome that energy’s hold on the body, it can be removed.
Depending on the shamanic practitioner and the nature of the displaced energy this can be a very quiet process. With some practitioners the extraction can be quite a show. The shamanic practitioner merged with a power animal may move similarly as his or her power animal. He or she may make the sounds of the power animal. For instance, if the animal is a snake the practitioner may hiss while removing the energy block. If you are interested in having an extraction, you can discuss this with your shamanic practitioner. They can perform the extraction in a way that you feel comfortable with.
Sound instruments may be used, such as a rattle or a drum, to increase the power or the energy of the “magnet.” The shamanic practitioner may sing to maintain her or his shamanic state, or to increase his power during the process.
The shamanic practitioner will dispose of the removed energy in various ways. She may transmute (transform) the energy into a more positive life enhancing energy. He may place it in water and have the water neutralize it.
Once the extraction is performed the shamanic practitioner will fill the void in the client’s body, that was created by the vacated energy . The practitioner may replace it with healing energy, perform a power animal retrieval, or perform a soul retrieval. The shaman will not leave a void for other energy to fill.
If you want to be proactive in avoiding misplaced energy in your body there are various thing you can do. To protect yourself from outside energy you can imagine yourself surrounded by protection. One commonly used method is to envision yourself surrounded by a blue translucent egg that allows only positive energy in and allows energy back out. This can surround you as you go about your daily life. If the environment is severe, or someone is combative, you may wish imagine a brick wall for that time. Click for more information on Energy Protection.
When you are feeling negative emotions it is important not to ignore them or they may get stored in your body. They need to be expressed and allowed to leave your body. You do not want to send them to others either. You can request that as you express your emotions they are transformed into more neutral or healing energy by the universe or your guardian spirits. You can visualize the emotions flowing into light and becoming bright and clear.
There are stones or other objects which are can absorb negative energy. If this appeals to you: Heavy or leaden stones are thought to absorb energy. Examples are: granite, galena, hematite. There are stones which transform and lighten energy such as selenite, calcite, and quartz. A dark purple amethyst can server as a good protective stone. Moldavite will transform the negative into positive, and has been known to get physically warm while doing so (this stone is expensive however.) You can have the stone in your pocket, wear it as a pendant, or place it on the desk where you work. People who engage in this practice will clean their stones with water, or place them in a sunny window to clean up any energy that might get stored in the stones. (Selenite does not need cleaning.) If you feel your stones need a more radical cleaning they can be buried outside to be healed by the earth. Stores that sell these items are often listed under “Rock Shops” in the yellow pages. You can search the web for ‘rock and mineral stores’.
If you would like to remove some of your own intrusions, visualization can be helpful. As you drink water, imagine it filling your body while transforming the misplaced energy. Or you can go swimming and imagine this. Lay out in the sun and imagine it melting away your intrusions and filling you with glowing healing energy. Just be sure to imagine something replacing that which is removed.”
